Surfing

The island has waves worth waking up early for.

Saint Lucia's coastline produces some of the most consistent surf breaks in the eastern Caribbean. The northern shore offers conditions that work for beginners and experienced surfers alike, and the guides at Caldwell know every one of them by name. Early mornings are best. The light is different before eight and the breaks are quieter than they will be for the rest of the day.

Sessions are fully guided and all equipment is provided. Beginners are taken through the basics on shore before entering the water. More experienced surfers are guided to the breaks that match their level. Nothing is rushed and nothing is off the agenda if you want to spend the entire morning in the water.

What to expect

A morning on some of the best surf the island has to offer, guided by someone who has been riding these breaks for decades. The water is warm, the conditions are consistent, and the only decision you need to make is whether to stop for breakfast before or after.

What to bring

Swimwear, sun protection, and a change of clothes. Boards and wetsuits if needed are provided.

Guest review

The best surf session I have had outside of Portugal, the guide knew exactly which break to take us to and when.
